Cellist. Born in Oxford, studied from the mid 1950s with William Pleeth at the Guildhall School of Music winning the school’s Gold Medal for her outstanding ability in 1960. Also studied with Tortelier, Casals and Rostropovich. She won the Queen’s Prize that lead to her official debut, aged 16, at the Wigmore Hall.
