This drawing of Maurice Hewlett by James Kerr-Lawson was made in about 1904 and relates closely to an oil sketch in the Gallery’s collection. According to the artist’s wife, it shows Hewlett working on his book The Road to Tuscany in her husband’s studio at the Casa di Boccaccio at Corbignano, near Florence, where Hewlett was staying as their guest.
